The problem we keep running into

Calling three shops for a brake quote takes a full day. The shops don't know what other shops quoted. You don't know what's a fair price. You end up going with the first shop that picked up the phone, paying $200 more than necessary, and quietly hoping the work is good. We thought that was worth fixing.

What we're doing differently

FixBid sits between customers and shops, but takes nothing from the transaction. No markup on the quoted price. No commission on completed jobs. Customers pay exactly what shops quote — directly to the shop.

Shops pay us a flat monthly membership ($29–$149 depending on coverage area). That's the entire revenue model. It means shops don't have an incentive to side-deal customers off the platform — once they're paying their membership, every job they win on FixBid is pure upside.

Who's behind it

FixBid is built solo by Timur Gulyi in Los Angeles. That means a few things:

• You can email me directly. The contact email isn't a queue at some support team — it goes to my actual inbox.
• Every shop on the platform has been verified by a human (me) reading their BAR license number against the California registry.
• If something is broken, weird, or unfair — tell me. I can ship a fix the same day.
• If you have an idea for what we should build next, I want to hear it.

Where we are right now

Operating in LA County only. Manually onboarding shops one at a time. Founding shops get the Premium plan free for 3 months — partly because we want to launch with real coverage, partly because expanding faster than we can verify shops is how marketplaces lose trust early. When we've got LA County dialed in, we'll expand to Orange County, then up the coast.

What we're not

• A lead-gen site — we don't sell your email or phone number to shops. Contact only happens after you accept a quote.
• A repair shop ourselves — we don't fix cars. We connect you to shops that do, and stay out of the work.
• A rating site — every review on FixBid is tied to a real completed job. No anonymous drive-by ratings.
